They'll turn on the hot water to see if the water coming out of the faucet is hot. They may turn on the stove, the oven and other things just to see if they work properly.

So, what you want to do is do your own little home inspection to make sure all faucets work, that they don't drip, toilets flush, the hot water is hot and all burners on the stove work. Make sure that all light bulbs illuminate. What you're actually doing by this is trying to remove reasons buyers could have for not wanting to buy your house.
